Hostel Administration

The Dean Students' Welfare shall be responsible for the overall planning, coordination, and supervision of student welfare activities in the University. The Dean shall promote the academic, cultural, social, recreational, and physical well-being of students, oversee the administration of student support services, hostels, scholarships, student societies, clubs, and welfare schemes, and ensure the maintenance of discipline and a conducive campus environment. The Dean Students' Welfare shall coordinate with the Provost, wardens, academic departments, and other University authorities to address students' grievances, organize co-curricular and extracurricular activities, and implement policies and initiatives aimed at enhancing students' welfare, safety, leadership, and holistic development. The Dean Students' Welfare shall also perform such other duties as may be assigned by the Dean Academic Affairs or the University Administration from time to time.
Responsibilities
- Overall policy and discipline across all hostels
- Final approval on escalated student grievances
- Liaison between hostels and university administration
- Scholarship and fee-waiver approvals
- Chairs the monthly Provosts & Wardens meeting

The Provost is responsible for the overall administration, supervision, and coordination of all university hostels, ensuring the effective implementation of hostel rules, discipline, safety of students. The Provost oversees hostel admissions and room allotments, coordinates the work of wardens and assistant wardens, monitors hostel infrastructure, maintenance, security, sanitation, and mess services, addresses student grievances, and ensures a safe and conducive residential environment. The role also involves conducting regular hostel inspections, recommending improvements in hostel policies and facilities, coordinating with university authorities and relevant departments, maintaining administrative records, and promoting students' academic, cultural, and social well-being through effective hostel management.
Responsibilities
- Supervises all 9 boys' hostel wardens
- Approves room allotment across boys' blocks
- Reviews monthly warden reports before DSW sign-off
- Handles inter-hostel disciplinary matters

The Additional Provost (Girls) shall assist the Provost in the administration, supervision, and management of the girls' hostels and shall ensure the effective implementation of hostel rules, discipline, safety, security, and student welfare. The Additional Provost (Girls) shall coordinate with the wardens of the girls' hostels, monitor hostel facilities and maintenance, address students' grievances, conduct regular inspections, and ensure a safe, secure, and conducive residential environment for female students. The Additional Provost (Girls) shall perform such other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Provost or Dean Student Welfare from time to time.
